Biography

Professor Cat Jarman is a bioarchaeologist specialising in the Viking Age, Viking women, and Rapa Nui. She uses forensic techniques such as isotope, DNA, and radiocarbon analysis to explore the lives of people in the past.

She is the author of the Sunday Times bestseller River Kings (2021) and The Bone Chests (2023), and is an Honorary Senior Research Associate at the University of Bristol.

Cat is a frequent media contributor and broadcaster, appearing on major TV documentaries and podcasts, including Digging for Britain and History Hit .
